i accompanied rachel on an all-day doctor visit, during which
she got the results of her recent blood test, several rounds of blood pressure checking, a blood oxygen saturation measurement that required her judy nails nail polish to be removed, an EKG/ECG, a chest X-ray, and two audiences with her MD, who helpfully ruled out anemia, lead poisoning, collapsed lungs, ebola, and settled on a preliminary diagnosis of walking pneumonia -- hopefully not Legionnaire's disease

this diagnosis was followed by a trip to the pharmacy where i kicked her butt a thumb war and we compared pharmacy queues to load balancing algorithms like round robin, least connections, weighting, etc.

finally we stopped by her office so that she could download some solidworks files and continue working from home while complying with her ordered bed-rest.

on thursday november 12, john kiser baked a gourmet vegan dinner, including an eggplant casserole, home made rye bread, and a huge salad and delivered them to our family. thanks john!
