rachel didn't want to wake up early, and wisely asked if our tent site was going to be affected by early morning sunlight. i took one look around at the deep woods and assured her that in such a densely wooded area, there would be no direct sunlight on the tent before high noon. here's sunlight warming up our tent at around 7am. oops.

camping in gifford pinchot national forest [114 photos] kat organized a camping trip this weekend in gifford pinchot national forest. we got to make s'mores, descend into an icy lava tube on a hot day, hike, pick huckleberries. sequoia got to experience camping for the very first time, and other than the sleeping bag bit, i think he loved it.
