J and C sent us a big supply of hypo-allergenic, chlorine-free, environmentally-friendly disposable diapers. last night when i undressed sequoia for his bath, i realized that the volume of his daily diaper output far exceeds the size of his tiny body. even sequoia appears impressed with this accomplishment. thanks for the lovely gift J & C! (as you can see, your gift has been thoroughly enjoyed).

noromdiam: Uh…diaper genie?
cloudy summer: holy cripes.
nanna anna: Isn't technology great? Imagine what it must have been like back in the olden days when most babies used cloth diapers. I heard about a set of twins that used a total of 28 dozen cloth diapers every single week, and their parents didn't even have a washing machine!
isle of beara: this photo should be on the cover of national geographic. sequoia's expression is incredible!
sean dreilinger: wait, 28 dozen diapers / week works out to 24 diapers per baby per day. for real?
gardenhoe: Please add this excellent moment to Marshmallow Supper
sarah. reed.: how did i miss this photo!!!???

meanjean: lolol!
poppa chips: Photo caption: Baby Sequoia and the Baby Sequoia Golum.

Sean, the high count of cloth diapers/day (and diapers washed each week) is partly due to

* the thread-bare condition of the diapers (some probably
handed down from their older sibling, who shall remain
Sean); and partly due to

* the remarkable 'productiveness' of the twins, who were
mighty thirsty kids, seldom seen wobbling around without
a bottle or tippy-cup of one fluid or another.

Consequently, the twins often faced the world each wearing
two diapers.
KnitStorm: lol! that's INSANE! very cute baby btw…
sean dreilinger: thanks shutterkate!
gabeadrienne: Too funny!
DILO!: I understand you!!!!!! my baby is sponsored by Pampers!!!! ;-)))))
wandering selection: that is the most heroin ive ever seen.
that baby is going to be rich as hell.
miss.love: i heard breast milk is a gateway drug, but i never thought my own infant would be dealing smack!
Neeta Lind: I have a photo from 1976 of Rachel about this age that looks identical to Sequoia's expression. I need to find it and scan it. Will post here someday when I do.
Luv, Walter & Sophie: What a beautiful baby! (and a beautiful name too!) Cute idea for the picture.
Yannou: This is a great demonstration of the nonsense of our society. Let's build a wolrd covered with trash for our children to grow up. Let's change these habits and use washable diapers.
workable fog: Washable diapers? EWWWW YUCK, how disgusting!
Let's just learn how to recycle www.knowaste.com
KnitStorm: Agreed Yannou. I cloth diaper my little guy. It's ridiculously easy and cheaper than disposables in the long run. I'm never turning back!
workable fog: Ahhhh?
Whats wrong with this pic???
A little photo-shopping maybe?
Each of those diapers are bigger than this baby's head, you could wrap the baby in one from head to toe!…LOL!
sean dreilinger: no photoshop, 50mm lens wouldn't distort the relative size of things.

workable fog: Hmmm? No offense, those diapers just look really big in comparison to the baby…
Great pics though…;)
KnitStorm: I just saw this photo being used in a Facebook page update, which linked to a Huffington Post article. However, in the article I don't see the photo. But here's the Facebook page! www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/GrowinGreenBums1?ref=ts
