gamecube for xmas [14 photos] thanks to nick's enthusiasm for video games, we've finally brought a video game console into our home. i've intended to buy one since ~1998, and rachel has a tattoo of her favorite video game character on her arm -- so its not like nick is the only one excited about this -- but his interest was the tipping point. rachel strategically picked some older nintendo gamecube hardware so that we could pick up accessories and used video games at bargain prices.

after watching him for a few days, i can't believe how fast nick picks this stuff up. he navigates the textual menus pretty well, even though he can not read yet.

the controllers are way tricker than an atari-2600-era joystick -- they have a multitude of buttons and at least three joystick type controllers on them.
