lake oswego house (that we bought in 2005) [26 photos] This is our home in lake oswego, oregon. photos taken the day we viewed the home with a real estate agent in april, 2005. we purchased the property and moved in two months later, in june, 2005. the home was built in northwest contemporary style in 1977 and we believe (from drawings that came with the house) that the architect was Elton Johnson. neighbors have informed us that he built three homes on our street, and lived in the home adjacent to ours in the 1970s. in addition to our neighbors, we've also come across another home by the same architect in lake oswego, where he had a larger, more level lot to work with. similar features in all homes by this architect include vertical cedar siding, low-pitch roof, extensive interior cedar, distinctive custom 8-foot cedar doors, oak flooring, built-in shelving, and use of concrete. This home is built on a steep hillside atop steel I-beams driven deep into the earth.
