Madzuela: Holy crap!! I once promised to go test these gaze-driven screen things for a research team at the university. Then they called to reschedule, and I honestly began to think that it was actually some psychological experiment… Like, “let's see how easily these people think they're really controlling this thing with their gaze”… Anyway, none of the new dates suited me so I never went.
sean dreilinger: the accompanying lecture was very entertaining. to test the gaze-controlled cameras, they sent the participants to rave parties wearing the head-mounted cameras. the resulting video footage was hilarious. everyone watching the video playback knows when the wearer's eyes wander all over somebody's butt, for example. they also have more practical applications, they mounted it on a surgeon's head throughout an operation, yielding footage useful in teaching.
s.laqua: Hi, I'm an admin for a group called The Eye Tracking Group, and we'd love to have this added to the group!
