Benjamin H. Bratton's work spans Philosophy, Art and Design. At the University of California, San Diego, he is an Associate Professor of Visual Arts and also serves as the Director of D:GP, The Center for Design and Geopolitics and the UCSD Design Theory & Research Platform. His work is situated at the intersections of contemporary social and political theory, computational media & infrastructure, architectural & urban design problems. Current focuses include the political geography of cloud computing, and the aesthetics of robotics. He holds a PhD in the Sociology of Technology from University of California, Santa Barbara. His next book, The Stack: On Software and Sovereignty, is forthcoming from MIT Press.
