24 Hours in the Wine Country [407 photos] May 12, 2007
I love May, it's my birthday month plus Mother's Day! It's a month long celebration IMO.
Jeff and I started out at Turnbull, one of our favorite places.
Then we met Mitch and Heather Buich and they drove us up the mountain to Bob Egelhoff's winery.
This is the greatest wine tasting experience I have had. Barrel tasting with Bob Egelhoff, reknown winemaker. Bob is the winemaker for five Napa Valley wineries. They are David Arthur Vineyards, Amizetta Vineyards, Richard Partridge Wines, Axios Wines and Phelan Vineyard. He has been in the business for nearly 30 years. He is basically a rockstar winemaker. www.bobegelhoff.com/
We tasted from numerous barrels and Bobby E. is hilarious. We enjoyed his company so much.
Next we visited Chateau Boswell and then ended up at Mitch and Heather's place at Calistoga Ranch which is heaven on earth.
I always look forward to staying there.
Pardon all the photos I took out of the speeding car but I couldn't resist. I love the drive from Napa back into the city. I love to see one vast vineyard after another. These shots are for myself.
