Red October

i can never say that i've seen too much
day before day i feel out of touch
so again i will stand
to take a look across the land
i see a new colour in the same old thing
who knows the shade tomorrow will bring
so again i will try
lower my eyes down from the sky

looks like another red october
i see the world as its turning over

it's getting better a little at a time
i won't say i'm there--i'm standing in line
so that's the way we are
one step at a time can take me far
I've been so hungry without a tongue
you can't know it hurts until you've bitten one
so today i will taste
the loss of hope i will replace
