i really liked this model of shoe, The North Face Men's Ultra 104 GTX XCR. this is my second (or third?) pair.
something about the 2008 revision of this shoe was painfully different, so i kept running in this 2006? edition of the shoes for one more year. when we went on our rainy walk to zombie easter dinner at taco bell, my waterproof gore-tex shoes soaked through from the bottom up -- i think the time has finally come to replace them, and i'm having a hard time finding a good fit.
in shopping for a pair of cool new shoes, i've been trying to understand pronation aka running gait and figure out which category i fall into. all i know is i don't do anything as extreme as the exxaggerated examples in the demonstration video clips. any ideas?

This www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/product/shoe-dog.jsp seems to have a decent decision guide, and a comment on letting someone else see you walk. If you were near the store, I'd recommend going in for a 10 minute fit session with their computers - did that in January, first time, and the three shoes they recommended fit immediately. First time that's happened, usually shoe buying is a major chore.
I've been happy with my Brooks Cascadia for the past two years. Liked my ASICs before that. Current or just-past Runners World had a run down on 9 new trail shoes, might be worth a quick review.
