joslyn and cameron sent us a big supply of hypo-allergenic, chlorine-free, environmentally-friendly disposable diapers. last night when i undressed sequoia for his bath, i realized that the volume of his daily diaper output far exceeds the size of his tiny body. even sequoia appears impressed with this accomplishment. thanks for the lovely gift joslyn & cameron! (as you can see, your gift has been thoroughly enjoyed).

nanna anna: Isn't technology great? Imagine what it must have been like back in the olden days when most babies used cloth diapers. I heard about a set of twins that used a total of 28 dozen cloth diapers every single week, and their parents didn't even have a washing machine!
isle of beara: this photo should be on the cover of national geographic. sequoia's expression is incredible!
sean dreilinger: wait, 28 dozen diapers / week works out to 24 diapers per baby per day. for real?

Sean, the high count of cloth diapers/day (and diapers washed each week) is partly due to

* the thread-bare condition of the diapers (some probably
handed down from their older sibling, who shall remain
Sean); and partly due to

* the remarkable 'productiveness' of the twins, who were
mighty thirsty kids, seldom seen wobbling around without
a bottle or tippy-cup of one fluid or another.

Consequently, the twins often faced the world each wearing
two diapers.
