birds of prey circling our home [7 photos] not sure what kind of birds these are - hawks? eagles? vultures? but we stepped outside for a family walk and counted at least eleven giant birds soaring around in what must be a thermal above our backyard canyon.

by the time i grabbed the camera and attached the telephoto lens, they had floated much higher and it was hard to get a decent image :-(. nice way to show off a filthy image sensor on the canon eos 20d.

navajo rachel says its a sign, but we don't know what its a sign of. eleven birds of prey circling over your house at sunset. good omen? bad omen? vision of thunderbirds = time for us to become heyoka?
