the environmental artists were installing the piece behind nick, its about two stories tall, translucent red plastic. nick was carrying on a shouting conversation with them for a while as they worked. then he wanted his portrait made in front of the artwork. its pretty dark in the woods here but he wasn't taking off his shades, not until we went to the grocery store and he needed to see the popsicle selection in the freezer section clearly.
