chips & rachel at the bourne ultimatum - opening night - DSC00273

chips joined rachel and i at the opening night of the film the bourne ultimatum. i've read all of the robert ludlum books and am keen on the films too, so i really wanted to see this in the theater. anna agreed to baby sit sequoia, so chips, rachel and i set off for opening night, which happened to be a friday (e.g. cram-packed theaters due to teenagers, etc.).

thanks to chips' disabled placard, we were able to park right at the theater steps even though the parking lot was full. the theater staff let us bypass a line of ~50 earlycomers so that chips could go in and rest his feet immediately. so we had first pick of seats in the theater.

the three of us sat through about 20 minutes of video advertisements and previews; then we sat through another 20 minutes of film-based advertisements and previews.

finally, the opening credits of the bourne ultimatum hit the screen. i looked over at chips, and he was fast asleep. he didn't wake up until the closing credits. 40 minutes of previews were about all he was able to stay awake for. what a waste of his time & attention :-(.
