2005 Holiday Tree

Tracy~: Hey Jim! This is your tree from 2005? Has it been up for a whole year? Haha!

jsf.online: Yes, it is our 2005 tree. I took the picture last year, and this year wanted a place to post it and link to my freecycle post as I try to get rid of it.

“About 18 months ago some family friends moved out of Southern California and downsized during their move. We ended up with their artificial Christmas tree. The tree is stored in four cardboard boxes, each roughly 1' x 1.5' x 3'. The tree can be stored in the boxes after this season ends, then you can get it out again next year. Assembled, the tree is roughly 6.5 or 7 feet high and should have several more years of use in it. Getting rid of it as my parents gave us their old tree, and it is a bit taller.”

I love Freecycle. Within half an hour of the post being approved, I had three different offers to come take it away.

Tracy~: Good deal! We haven't signed up for Freecycle yet, but probably will eventually. My Mom has given away a couple things that way. She sends me some of the more “interesting” ads for fun. My favorite ones are the people trying to get rid of half eaten boxes of candy, broken items, or electronics they don't know how to work or even describe. They can be quite entertaining! :-)

Tracy~: Do you have one less tree now? And is there a happy family somewhere with a nice tree?

jsf.online: The tree is gone. We have a happy family, as the 2005 tree is out of the entryway. Their initial email made it sound as if they would enjoy it, so it is my hope that they are happy with it.
